Bradford Bulls: Odsal club want 10,000 season-ticket holders as sales pass 4,000
8:00am Saturday 17th November 2012 in Bulls
Exclusive By Rhys Thomas, T&A Reporter
Bulls joint owner Omar Khan
Christmas is coming early for lucky Bradford Bulls fans thanks to the club’s very own Santa Claus.
On the back of requests from supporters, Bulls joint-owner Omar Khan has extended the deadline on the season ticket discount by two weeks.
Mr Khan told the Telegraph & Argus yesterday that the early-bird offer would now run until 5pm on December 1.
The original offer expired last Wednesday.
A festive-feeling Mr Khan said: “Quite a few people came up to me in person, and on Twitter, and asked if we could extend the deadline because they wanted to buy season tickets as Christmas presents for family, but they said they didn’t get paid until the end of the month. So I thought it would be a good idea. This is what the fans wanted.
“So for all those people that asked, this is their early Christmas present from me.”
Mr Khan said the “six or seven” fans who bought a season ticket after the original November 14 early-bird deadline would get some money back.
The club is aiming to sell at least 10,000 season tickets before the 2013 season starts in February.
So far, said Mr Khan, the club had sold “just over 4,000”.
“We need to achieve 10,000,” said Mr Khan. “What is important is a big fan base, being in Super League, controlling Super League, and showing we are one of the largest clubs.
“We want a good turnout every week. The bigger the fan base, the more weight we carry.”
The cheapest adult early bird price for the Terrace is £180. Early bird season ticket prices for adults are: Terrace £180, Tetley’s Stand £225, Premier Club £270. If bought after December 1, adult ticket prices will go up to £220 at the Terrace, £275 at the Tetley’s Stand and £330 at the Premier Club.
To buy tickets, call the club on 08448 711490 or visit the ticket office.

4k is very poor indeed. Some of you were saying how the Super League needed the Bulls because of its army of fans, 4k is poor however you look at it.
A two week extention might bring jn a few more but not the 6k mentioned above.

The simple fact is people cant afford to pay the money and some will be bitter at having already dipped into their pockets to keep the club afloat.
I think te club have been unrealistic to expect to sell 10k at that price, although still a decent price, given they only sold 11k or so at £60.

Over 4000 adult season tickets is a great effort, we didn't get much more than that in our heyday, lots of people would be pay on the day, unfortunatly this will not happen unless the team is winning. 10 000 season tickets is unattainable in my eyes, I just hope they haven't gambled on selling 10 000 or we could be back in trouble again shortly.
Lets hope the sales increase at xmas.

A core base of 4000 fans in anyones language is a good result.
The actual target of 10,000 is Utopia and when targets are set you would use this as the desireable figure.
I for one am delighted at the results and the way the season tickets are going at this moment.
Do you want to do the maths from last season? (sold in 2011)
If so BGs company report was the season tickets sold at approx. £75 x approx.ten thousand + equals £750k revenue.
4000 at £180 (lowest adult price, allowing for concessions at £135 and higher priced early bird tickets) which equals £720k already.
So no doubt you will bring some obscure and meaningless rebuttle into the debate.
However given the positive steps being taken at Odsal, why don't you take the views of the majority of people who actually do care about the sporting ethos and success of all clubs in Bradford.
After all it's a legacy all citizens in the City would wish to leave our kids for the future isn't it?

Once push comes to shove your core support is about 4k like I said months ago, I also said your dirty money deal was only worth the equivalent of 1.5k ST's and that you would still be skint, looking at your squad it's obvious to all that you're potless and I think you will struggle to see out the season and once again, drag the name of RL in to the gutter.
You should have been allowed to die months ago and a new smaller club should have been allowed to grow from the lower leagues.

Leeds were in the same mess as the Bulls immediatley prior to Super League as Laughton had virtually bankrupted the club. Fortunately for Leeds (and RL as a whole) Caddick and friends stepped in. Barry McDermott had agreed terms with the the then Northern but it all fell through following Caddick's intervention.

You won the 2004 Grand Final by cheating as two or more of your players failed dope tests. As it was Leeds it was all hushed up with Hetherington saying the RL had dealt with it in a professional manner. In other words the RL led them off the hook.

By the way when you discuss the rights and wrongs of the Provident deal, if when you moved house you took out say a 30 year mortgage and borrowed say £165,000 (all fictitious figures, a bit like your life really) you would pay £239,000 in interest at 7%.
And if you can't pay it back you are legally thrown out of your home????
