Bradford Bulls: Odsal club want 10,000 season-ticket holders as sales pass 4,000

Christmas is coming early for lucky Bradford Bulls fans thanks to the club’s very own Santa Claus.

On the back of requests from supporters, Bulls joint-owner Omar Khan has extended the deadline on the season ticket discount by two weeks.

Mr Khan told the Telegraph & Argus yesterday that the early-bird offer would now run until 5pm on December 1.

The original offer expired last Wednesday.

A festive-feeling Mr Khan said: “Quite a few people came up to me in person, and on Twitter, and asked if we could extend the deadline because they wanted to buy season tickets as Christmas presents for family, but they said they didn’t get paid until the end of the month. So I thought it would be a good idea. This is what the fans wanted.

“So for all those people that asked, this is their early Christmas present from me.”

Mr Khan said the “six or seven” fans who bought a season ticket after the original November 14 early-bird deadline would get some money back.

The club is aiming to sell at least 10,000 season tickets before the 2013 season starts in February.

So far, said Mr Khan, the club had sold “just over 4,000”.

“We need to achieve 10,000,” said Mr Khan. “What is important is a big fan base, being in Super League, controlling Super League, and showing we are one of the largest clubs.

“We want a good turnout every week. The bigger the fan base, the more weight we carry.”

The cheapest adult early bird price for the Terrace is £180. Early bird season ticket prices for adults are: Terrace £180, Tetley’s Stand £225, Premier Club £270. If bought after December 1, adult ticket prices will go up to £220 at the Terrace, £275 at the Tetley’s Stand and £330 at the Premier Club.

To buy tickets, call the club on 08448 711490 or visit the ticket office.

4k is very poor indeed. Some of you were saying how the Super League needed the Bulls because of its army of fans, 4k is poor however you look at it.
A two week extention might bring jn a few more but not the 6k mentioned above.

Why would lack of signings have an impact? Surely, any right minded Bulls fan will be realistic to know we will struggle next year once injuries kick in. We signed some decent players, albeit, a few on loan.

The simple fact is people cant afford to pay the money and some will be bitter at having already dipped into their pockets to keep the club afloat.

I think te club have been unrealistic to expect to sell 10k at that price, although still a decent price, given they only sold 11k or so at £60.

Over 4000 adult season tickets is a great effort, we didn't get much more than that in our heyday, lots of people would be pay on the day, unfortunatly this will not happen unless the team is winning. 10 000 season tickets is unattainable in my eyes, I just hope they haven't gambled on selling 10 000 or we could be back in trouble again shortly.

I too think that 4000 tickets at a minimum of £180 is a good effort, far better than 10000 tickets at £60.

Lets hope the sales increase at xmas.

No it isn't a poor result TVR it's what I would class an essential result.

A core base of 4000 fans in anyones language is a good result.

The actual target of 10,000 is Utopia and when targets are set you would use this as the desireable figure.

I for one am delighted at the results and the way the season tickets are going at this moment.
Do you want to do the maths from last season? (sold in 2011)

If so BGs company report was the season tickets sold at approx. £75 x approx.ten thousand + equals £750k revenue.

4000 at £180 (lowest adult price, allowing for concessions at £135 and higher priced early bird tickets) which equals £720k already.

So no doubt you will bring some obscure and meaningless rebuttle into the debate.
However given the positive steps being taken at Odsal, why don't you take the views of the majority of people who actually do care about the sporting ethos and success of all clubs in Bradford.
After all it's a legacy all citizens in the City would wish to leave our kids for the future isn't it?

Told you this would happen.
Once push comes to shove your core support is about 4k like I said months ago, I also said your dirty money deal was only worth the equivalent of 1.5k ST's and that you would still be skint, looking at your squad it's obvious to all that you're potless and I think you will struggle to see out the season and once again, drag the name of RL in to the gutter.
You should have been allowed to die months ago and a new smaller club should have been allowed to grow from the lower leagues.
Hell, even Wakefield are a bigger clud that the ratsharkbulls these days.

I don't know why you bother. I've read the tripe you've posted over the last few months and frankly to call yourself a Rhinos supporter doesn't add up. I have many friends and colleagues who are Rhinos supporters but you are the only one who takes delight at the Bulls' recent problems. You've obviously got a short memory. To recall:

Leeds were in the same mess as the Bulls immediatley prior to Super League as Laughton had virtually bankrupted the club. Fortunately for Leeds (and RL as a whole) Caddick and friends stepped in. Barry McDermott had agreed terms with the the then Northern but it all fell through following Caddick's intervention.

During 2000 you were find guilty of racism involving Paul Sterlimg and Dean Lance.

In 2003 Ryan Bailey and Chev Walker were jailed following a brawl in a nightclub

You won the 2004 Grand Final by cheating as two or more of your players failed dope tests. As it was Leeds it was all hushed up with Hetherington saying the RL had dealt with it in a professional manner. In other words the RL led them off the hook.

All in all I think you need to remove the log from your own eye before trying to remove the speck from our eyes. Better still shove off, this website would be richer without you.

The whinos seem to forget that they were crap at the start of super league. We put 50 past them on a number of occasions, oh how good that felt lol.

All the BIG teams have their day, they will fall soon when there current team retire, starting with peacock.

Interesting that they have been after R Keith and taken mcavoy. maybe their youth set up has too had its day.

You should have been allowed to die months ago and a new smaller club should have been allowed to grow from the lower leagues. I've read the tripe you've posted over the last few months and frankly to call yourself a Rhinos supporter doesn't add up. I have many friends and colleagues who are Rhinos supporters but you are the only one who takes delight at the Bulls' recent problems. You've obviously got a short memory. To recall: Leeds were in the same mess as the Bulls immediatley prior to Super League as Laughton had virtually bankrupted the club. In 2003 Ryan Bailey and Chev Walker were jailed following a brawl in a nightclub You won the 2004 Grand Final by cheating as two or more of your players failed dope tests. As it was Leeds it was all hushed up with Hetherington saying the RL had dealt with it in a professional manner. In other words the RL led them off the hook. 4k is very poor indeed. Some of you were saying how the Super League needed the Bulls because of its army of fans, 4k is poor however you look at it.
A two week extention might bring jn a few more but not the 6k mentioned above.

So 4k gets you delighted.
Weren't people saying Fax and Featherstone should not be considered because this was the level of support you could expect from the but now Bradford are scraping those levels its classed as being a figure to be delighted about.

Are you for real or a figment of everyone's imagination.

Some Super League clubs are struggling to get a crowd of 5-6 thousand.
As for putting a positive spin on the
pre sold season tickets, no need, it's a fact.
You need to show some respect for fellow human beings, if you are to become part of the Human race

By the way when you discuss the rights and wrongs of the Provident deal, if when you moved house you took out say a 30 year mortgage and borrowed say £165,000 (all fictitious figures, a bit like your life really) you would pay £239,000 in interest at 7%.
And if you can't pay it back you are legally thrown out of your home????
Leeds are sponsored by one of those companies, ie Leeds Building society.

I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but just like the payday loans, it is the terms of reference.

Did you enjoy the make believe Holiday??

Well said writer. I have a friend and colleague who is a Rhino. He lives in shelf, is a bulls hater although he was once a supporter. He has been on this forum as various guises, scandanavian love child for one. Could he be this knob shelfwhino ?

The whinos seem to forget that they were crap at the start of super league. We put 50 past them on a number of occasions, oh how good that felt lol.

All the BIG teams have their day, they will fall soon when there current team retire, starting with peacock.

Interesting that they have been after R Keith and taken mcavoy. maybe their youth set up has too had its day.
You don't know me nosher, you certainly don't work with me (how are things at Burger king by the way?) so don't come on here pretending you've got friends and work colleagues, it's plain to see you have neither.
I note with pride the bitterness you hold for the mighty Rhino's, you certainly are a small time, small club lady.

How right you are.
When the first few injuries kick in and the thrashings start, like they did back end of this season, watch the crowd numbers plummet.
OK can't possibly afford to make up for the 6k missing fans can he, especially after the bad news his business suffered not so long back, or does he have other means of income? A lot of these Pakistani business men have their fingers in many pies.

Tell you what mate, I can put up with your wind up rantings, even ill informed banter can be amusing, but you come pretty close to racist libel with that sort of comment. There's no place for that on this message board

I see what you mean, a really thick person might get the wrong idea.
As I suspected, OK does have other business... apparently he owns a hotel as well, so my fingers in other pies remark was spot ;)

I'm with you there Shipley. What he is trying to achieve seems to be racially motivated disharmony.
He will go too far as his type of fool always do. And he will then be getting a knock on the door form the boys in blue.
