Ricky Ravenhill column: It’s good to be in the play-offs but we cannot afford to be complacent in the run-in.

Just because we’re seventh now is no guarantee we will be in the play-offs. Exeter are a good team who have just hit a bad run and Chesterfield are right behind us and can’t be written off.

We have to keep working hard as it’s no given that we will stay up there.

Look at how easily we’ve gone from 12th and looking pretty much out of contention to being right back in the thick of it. If you take your eye off the ball, you can quickly go the other way.

That’s why we want to finish as strongly as possible and see where that takes us. Play-offs may be more of a reality than third place but all we can do is try to keep winning.

Things are coming right for us and people are coming into form, like Nahki who is scoring goals again.

It also helps when you get that early goal. We’ve had too many games when we’ve been playing well but not got that break through – when you’re scoring then everyone relaxes.

I remember after the Plymouth game talking about all the chances and not being able to take them. I said then that sooner or later someone would get a good hiding and I think you saw that on Tuesday.

It was a really good performance and it’s important that our home form is looking stronger again.

Now we’ve got to take that confidence into tomorrow and the remaining games.

This is the business end of the season and you’ve worked hard all year to get into a position where there is something to play for. You’ve got to perform well in these last few games or it will all be for nothing.

Chesterfield are the home team and they are in good form there so it’s going to be tough.

The onus is on them to come at us but we thrive on that. A lot of teams we’ve played have piled men behind the ball to frustrate us but we know that won’t be the case.
