We’ve had a good start to this run of home games and there’s no reason why that cannot continue.

I thought it was a solid performance from everyone on Tuesday and now it’s down to us to play like that week in, week out for the rest of the season.

We are certainly capable of putting in the same effort and determination. If we can do that, then we can still be up there.

We thought we’d been doing all right and then Saturday came around at Exeter and we knew it wasn’t good enough. But we discussed a few things in training the next day and refocused and looked much better against Wycombe.

Scoring the early goal also settled everybody down and gave us the belief that all our efforts were worthwhile. Otherwise you’d start thinking ‘here we go again’.

It was also nice that it wasn’t an unbelievable goal. A bit of a scruffy one from a ball dropping inside the box is the sort we’ve not been putting away so I was pleased to see Thommo finish it.

It was good to be back playing and it was just a shame that I had to go off with the shin injury.

The shooting pain just went straight up the leg and my toes went numb. I felt even worse when I got up and had to sit back down again.

I went to hospital to have it x-rayed as a precaution and it was just heavy bruising round the shin.

But I don’t know how quick it will settle down because it’s right in the spot where you will get kicked or the ball’s going to hit it and you’ve got to be able to withstand the pain.

Our next opponents Bristol Rovers were tipped to do well before the season got going so it was a bit of a shock to see the way they started.

But it’s no surprise they’ve found their form since the new manager came in.

They are a good team and this will be just as hard as any other game we’re going to face at the end of the season.
