Chris Mitchell has reassured fretting fans: Our first win is on the way.

The versatile Scot has started every game so far and is as keen as the supporters to get the season up and running.

City have picked up only one point from nine but confident Mitchell sees no cause for concern.

He said: “Wins will come. We’re only three league games in so it’s not a catastrophe.

“There is so much to be played and if we keep doing what we can then I’m sure we’ll get the right result.

“Everyone needs to keep together as a group. Do that in the club and you’ll do that on the pitch.”

Mitchell has adapted to the more bruising style of game in midfield since making the switch from Falkirk.

He added: “I’d been told from different pros who used to be at Falkirk that it was always a rough league. So I wasn’t shocked.

“It’s a lot more physical compared with back home and the players are much stronger down here. But I feel I’m getting used to it and I like to put myself about as well.

“I like a wee tackle like every player does. If the ball’s there to be won, you need to go for it.

“I came here to experience a different culture of football and I love it. It’s good.

“And the fans here have been superb. I think they had half the ground against Accrington.

“It gives you a buzz when you see support like that.”
