TALKS will continue today among City's hierarchy after "nothing concrete" emerged from yesterday's meeting on the club's strategy for next season.

Boss Stuart McCall met with owners Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic in the aftermath of the Bantams' heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Millwall in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

High on the agenda is the future of several out-of-contract players in Mark Marshall, James Meredith, Rory McArdle, Tony McMahon, Stephen Darby and Matt Kilgallon.

The City manager revealed that a decision on potential new deals for them would be made within the next two days.

He told the T&A: "There is nothing to report yet, nothing concrete has been done.

"We've got six or seven lads out of contract who have got to be sorted out in the next 48 hours.

"You only get a certain amount of time to offer them a deal after the last game of the season. That will be done in the next 48 hours.

"There is lots of other stuff we need to discuss as well. We're back in again today and we'll know more later."

City had deliberately put off talks with those out-of-contract players until they knew which division they would be in.

McCall has expressed his hope that the majority of the squad can be kept together for another big push for promotion next season, citing Neil Harris' Lions as an example to follow.

Seven of Millwall's starting line-up last Saturday were also present the previous season when they lost in the final to Barnsley.

Rupp has expressed his desire to see City build on their achievement, insisting that last weekend's disappointment was only postponing success around the corner.
