NICKY Law is plotting City's revenge on Oxford tomorrow – and admits blowing up in the League One play-off race would be a catastrophe.

The fourth-placed Bantams head into the Valley Parade showdown in a strong position against a side who have beaten them twice.

With a six-point cushion going into the final four games, Stuart McCall's side are firmly on course to secure the top-six place they have held all season.

Midfielder Law feels they have two scores to settle against the visitors, who also dumped them out of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Law said: "Oxford will be confident knowing they've beaten us twice but we're not worried about that. I thought we were unlucky to lose both. As I keep saying, there's nobody in the league who I've felt have been better than us.

"We're not going into games with any fear. We're just desperate to collect the points we need for the play-offs. Having been there from day one, it would be catastrophic to fall out now.

"I think we've got quite a tricky run-in. But you can face those sides in the middle with nothing to play for and maybe drop your focus, thinking they are already on holiday. That's when you get the shock results.

"It's a difficult game but one we're looking forward to. We definitely don't want them winning a third time."

Law is pushing for a first start since February after being sidelined for a month with a knee injury. He has come off the bench in City's last two wins over Walsall and Bury.

He said: "It took longer than I thought originally. I felt it during the MK Dons game but carried on with the adrenaline and the next day it stiffened up.

"I probably tried to come back a little bit too early and I was struggling with my rehab' with the ball. It was my right leg as well and kicking the ball with any power was difficult. There was no point in risking it.

"So it ended up as four or five weeks when I thought it would be just two or three. It's been frustrating but hopefully now I'll be fresh for the run-in."

City have won five games out of seven since Law lost his ever-present record of appearing in every league fixture. Now pain free, he cannot wait to make up for lost time as the season reaches its crucial point.

"Ask any footballer and they'll all tell you it's much better to be involved than watching it helpless in the stands," said Law.

"But the results were good and the lads have done well so we're in a good position going into the last four games. We got a big win last weekend without playing amazingly and the other results went well.

"Maybe the tension would rise a bit if we hadn't won and it would have been tighter. But there is that little cushion now with four games to go. Hopefully we'll get those points to get over the line."
