SWINDON head to West Yorkshire with question marks about the commitment of some of their squad.

Luke Williams axed three players for the midweek loss to leaders Sheffield United because he did not feel they were working hard enough for the cause.

Keeper Lawrence Vigouroux, Brandon Ormond-Ottewill and James Brophy all sat out Tuesday's 4-2 home loss with the head coach's criticism ringing in their ears.

Williams said: "No-one needs to tell me to push myself, no one needs to help me to be ambitious to try to get to the top. If other people haven't got that, I don't think I can work with that.

"Maybe it is because my mind is like that, that I expect other people will be of the same ilk, but unfortunately it seems some are not. Maybe I learned the real reason now why we are where we are."

Such drastic actions highlight the worrying position the Robins find themselves in as games run out.

A third straight defeat leaves them third from bottom and seven points adrift of Oldham in the last survival spot.

Swindon came to Valley Parade last year in the wake of a dressing-room disciplinary crackdown. Wing back Ormond-Ottewill was suspended after a video emerged of him allegedly inhaling 'laughing gas'.

But at that stage, they had their heads above the relegation water and finished relatively safely. This season they might not be so lucky.

Swindon are one of only five teams to have beaten tomorrow's Bantams opponents, courtesy of a long-range Anton Rogers free-kick in November. But they have managed just three league wins since, although one of them surprisingly came at Bolton.

Williams said: "Knuckle down, show more, sacrifice, give up some things, give every single part of you to the cause. Then, if you are not good enough, it's part of life, but to not try is not fair."
