NATHANIEL Knight-Percival loves to be beside the seaside around Valentine’s Day.

This time 12 months ago he was scoring with an overhead kick as precise as Cupid’s arrow in a Shrewsbury win at Blackpool.

So he is hoping his luck will be in again nine miles up the west coast when the Bantams look to leapfrog fourth-placed Fleetwood.

The centre half is still looking for a City goal but his main job tonight will be to help them break the habit of conceding first.

Bristol Rovers struck the opener on Saturday again – the sixth time in seven away games when City have gone a goal down.

Knight-Percival said: “It’s something we’ve been working on in training and speaking about. We want to put it right.

“We know where we’ve made our errors and it’s a case of learning from them so it doesn’t keep happening.

“We’ve got so much quality in the team and always know we’ve got a chance of creating chances and scoring goals. It’s just disappointing to set off on the wrong foot and concede that first goal.”

Knight-Percival was pleased to be back in the thick of it at the Memorial Stadium after missing the previous three games with an injured ankle.

But he got a souvenir for his troubles on Saturday – a black eye from whacking into the back of a Rovers head.

Knight-Percival still views City’s position as a strong one despite a record that shows they have drawn almost half their games.

He added: “You look back at them and we’ve dominated a lot and had so many chances. It’s something we’re working on and we’re trying as hard as we can to score goals.

“We’re getting very close and we’ll just keep knocking on the door.

“It would be brilliant if we could do that in these next couple of games against teams above us, which would put us in an even better position.

“Fleetwood have done very well and been consistent throughout . They’re up there through hard work but we’re very confident.”
