STUART McCall believes City's early business has taken any panic out of their transfer window.

Newcastle winger Alex Gilliead is in his first squad this afternoon at Shrewsbury to follow last week's permanent capture of striker Alex Jones from Birmingham.

McCall is still keen on adding another frontman to his resources – but with Josh Cullen also secured for the rest of the season, he is happier with the numbers available.

"I don't think there's anything likely to happen imminently but you never say never," said the Bantams boss.

"Between now and when the window closes, if something comes up that can make us stronger and better, then we'd certainly look at it.

"But we're not frantically searching at this moment in time. We're happy with the business we've done.

"The key one was keeping Josh and we've got two in that have replaced Haris Vuckic and Marc McNulty."

Signing another youngster in Gilliead should give City more room to manoeuvre financially in their hunt for one more forward, although McCall's options will be boosted by the return of Billy Clarke.

The six-goal Irishman, who has been out for two months, was due to have another hard solo session at the training ground today.

All being well, he will join in with the rest on Monday with a view to playing some part in the Checkatrade Trophy tie at Cheltenham.

McCall, who also has James Hanson back after missing the Chesterfield game, said: "Billy has worked hard with the physio the past couple of days and he's pain free.

"Yes, I'd like another striker, but if it doesn't happen I'm really pleased with what we've got. It's not something we're rushing for.

"We've got a few games before the window closes. That might determine what happens.

"But it's also who becomes available. Greg (Abbott) and myself are getting names thrown at us almost on the hour, let alone day in, day out.

"But it has to be somebody really who we know would come in and improve us."

Filipe Morais, whose position looks uncertain following the arrival of another right winger, is still a week to ten days away with his injured calf.
