MARK Marshall feels City have a strong hand to hit the January sales.

Stuart McCall is trying to bolster a squad that has seen three departures already since the transfer window opened on Sunday.

Having nailed down Josh Cullen for the remainder of the campaign, the fifth-placed Bantams have focused their sights on bolstering the attack. A long list of names are under consideration.

Monday's win at Northampton has lifted team morale after a month of draws.

And Marshall, who played such a key role in the Sixfields comeback, insists new recruits would be getting "the best of both worlds".

He said: "Make no bones about it, Bradford are a massive club and I think the football we're playing is magnificent.

"If I was a player looking for a new club, I'd want to come here. You're getting the best of both worlds.

"You're getting a big club with momentum and you're playing good football. What more can you ask for?

"Obviously you have blips but there is a consistency to the way we're playing – the passing, the movement and the creating chances.

"When we're on our game I think there's nobody who can live with us.

"I heard one of the Northampton players on the pitch saying 'their movement's too good for us, what do we do?' That's music to your ears.

"We're playing good football, we're doing well and we're getting big crowds. We had 21,000 at Valley Parade on Boxing Day – that's more than a lot of clubs get in the Championship.

"So why wouldn't you want to come here?"

Marshall admitted there was a huge sense of relief among the players at securing a first league win since November to end a run of four successive draws.

The winger, who scored the equaliser and assisted Jordy Hiwula's late winner, added: "We've played good football all season but to get the result we've wanted – and probably deserved for a number of weeks – took a massive load of our backs.

"The first half was disappointing because we had control of the game but weren't really penetrating them and getting shots off.

"But we regrouped and gave it our all. We know what we want and we've got to work hard for it.

"Getting these draws has been frustrating because the performances have deserved more. But that's gone now."

Struggling Chesterfield visit Valley Parade on Saturday and Marshall is determined City will not fall short again as they did against Bury, another team fighting at the wrong end of League One.

He said: "We must make sure we're on it. There are no excuses – we have to get a result.

"We've got an away victory to build on and we have to make that count at home.

"We've got to treat the next game like we're playing a Sheffield United and keep our levels of performance high.

"Two games in three days is no easy job and takes a lot out of you physically.

"But we put that massive effort in to get the result against Northampton and now we can't afford to settle on it on Saturday."
