STUART McCall was delighted to see Nicky Law break his City duck this season - and now wants more from him.
The midfielder scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win over Shrewsbury at Valley Parade. Haris Vuckic added a stoppage-time penalty.
It was Law's first goal for 13 months and McCall said: "I’m pleased for Nicky to get his goal because it’s long overdue. But he knows that himself.
“I hope he doesn’t think I’ll be getting off his back now. That’s one in 12 and he needs to get more because he’s got good ability left and right-footed.
“Hopefully now he can kick on from there. I thought he was one of the top players today.
“We had three or four who were excellent but we needed them.”
McCall admitted Shrewsbury could have had a penalty in the second half when the ball struck Stephen Darby's hand in the City box.
The Bantams boss added: “We spoke to the players about this being a potential banana-skin.
“I’m probably ultra-critical of the lads because they set their standards high. Second half they dipped a bit below but Shrewsbury are fighting for their lives.”
