CITY could welcome back Filipe Morais and James Hanson for Coventry’s visit on Saturday.

Stuart McCall is hoping to have both in contention again after injury.

He said: “We’ll see how they come through training tomorrow but hopefully they’ll be back for Saturday.

“We know they’ve all had a heavy work shift using the same 11 or 12 outfield players.

“Obviously we didn’t want to go out of the (EFL) Cup but looking further afield once we get through the weekend they can rest with no midweek game. A lot of the lads can recharge the batteries.”

Stephen Darby and Rory McArdle joined in ball work at training this morning for the first time.

Nathan Clarke is a couple of weeks away and Matthew Kilgallon is getting closer, although his progress was held up after he suffered a slight strain.

McCall added: “Killy got that from pushing himself too much so we had to take him out for a week.

“We’re starting the process again with him but he has to be a bit careful because he’s that desperate and determined to get his fitness up to a level where he can compete.

“But it’s looking a bit brighter getting bodies on the park.”
