CITY will not be getting an EFL Cup recall after Accrington admitted fielding an ineligible player against them last week.
The League Two side were handed a £5,000 fine suspended for 12 months because Janoi Donacien was not eligible to appear in the first two games of the season.
But the Telegraph & Argus understands that there will be no further punishment.
Defender Donacien, from St Lucia, was signed as a free agent after being released by Aston Villa. But his international clearance had expired at the end of a loan spell with Newport.
Donacien scored in the marathon penalty shoot-out that Accrington eventually won 11-10 after the first-round tie had finished goalless.
City were kicked out of the FA Cup in 2012 because Curtis Good had not been registered in time to play against Brentford - but were reinstated after winning an appeal.
