CITY will tomorrow try to do what no opponent has managed yet – beat a Peterborough team managed by Grant McCann.

The popular former Posh player is unbeaten in six games at the helm spread out over almost a year, winning five of them.

A late winner from Tom Nichols maintained that Midas touch in the EFL Cup against Wimbledon in midweek.

McCann, who had two previous cameos in a caretaker role, was given the permanent nod after Graham Westley's departure.

He admits his team is still a work in progress and, like City, they are in the hunt for another striker. They also have potentially big resources to fund it, having seen a seven-figure bid for Jason Cummings rejected by Hibernian this week.

Posh have taken it to the wire in the two games they have played so far, winning both with last-minute goals.

They may feel there is a score to settle against the Bantams after their 4-0 drubbing in February.

McCann watched that painfully from the sidelines as an assistant to Westley but it will not feature too heavily in his pre-match team talk.

He said: "It was an awful performance and one of the worst we gave last season – but I won't mention it to the players at all. Bradford have a different manager now and different players and it won't be relevant."

Skipper Chris Forrester could be a doubt after taking a knock in midweek but McCann hopes to have 6ft 5in centre half Ryan Tafazolli back from injury.

Posh lack height at the back without him and are wary of the aerial threat of James Hanson, who scored twice on his last visit.

Peterborough are usually one of the great entertainers in the lower leagues and Nichols pointed to two 3-2 wins already as proof that is still the case.

"Some of the goals might fly in at the wrong end but that's a risk you take when you play open, attractive football like we do," said the striker.

"We've scored six goals in two matches and haven't played that well. Just think what we'll be like when we are flying."
