PHIL Parkinson admitted City’s second-half horror show at Swindon was like watching a “different side” as they crashed to a 4-1 loss.

Josh Morris’s early strike was overhauled as the hosts hit back with four goals in an 18-minute spree after the break, including a Nathan Byrne hat-trick. Billy Clarke had missed a penalty when City were ahead.

Parkinson said: “Some of our football in the first half was great. We did everything we set out to do.

“The pen was a key moment because if that goes in, it gives us a little bit of breathing space.

“But in the second half we were second best all over the pitch.

“Swindon changed their shape slightly but that’s only a small effect. We gave the ball away too cheaply on a hot day to a team who have got too many technical players.

“I said all the right things at half-time. They had to go out and produce exactly the same.

“The second half was like watching a different side in possession and Swindon gained confidence from that.

“They had the bit between their teeth and we weren’t strong enough. That was the disappointing thing.

“Swindon are a good side and they’ve got an outstanding player in Nathan Byrne, who was unplayable at times. But we’ve got to do better.”
