CITY want two right wingers to compensate for the loss of Filipe Morais.

Phil Parkinson was looking for another wideman to provide further competition for the Portuguese.

Now with Morais set to miss the entire season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, the Bantams boss is urgently seeking extra replacements.

Parkinson said: "We were looking for another right-sided player anyway. Now we might need to bring two in.

"Marshy (Mark Marshall) can play on the right if required but it's an area that we do need to strengthen.

"Attacking-wise, we aren't looking bad. We're quite strong up there with some good options.

"But we're absolutely devastated for Fil. He'd obviously worked hard over his rehab' and got himself in a good position.

"It was such an innocuous incident; something of nothing. It's a cruel blow for Fil and for us – but we've got to move forward."

Striker Steve Davies, meanwhile, is pencilled in for his first involvement in the City squad against Carlisle.

Davies has been in full training this week after recovering from an Achilles strain and, providing he comes through today's session unscathed, could be ready for substitute duty.

Tomorrow's friendly will also provide the first glimpse of the summer revamp to the much-criticised home pitch.

Assistant boss Steve Parkin said: "We're looking forward to getting back to Valley Parade and I know the fans who didn't travel to Scotland are keen to see some of the new players.

"It will be good to play on the pitch again, which looks a lot better than it has been.

"Julian (Rhodes) and Mark (Lawn) have allowed Mick Doyle the groundsman to spend a few quid on it and hopefully we'll reap the rewards."
