BRADFORD City chief operating officer James Mason is confident of smashing the 15,000 barrier for season-ticket and flexi-card holders in the 2015/16 campaign.

The Bantams have already surpassed the 7,500 mark ahead of the deadline of July 5 for discounted prices and the campaign continues to gather pace.

With the North-West Corner to be opened for league games next term, fans can buy season-tickets in an area of the stadium previously used for big cup games only.

“We’re already halfway to our target of 15,000, which we felt was a realistic and achievable target,” said Mason.

“But with still over a month to go, there is no reason why we can’t smash that 15,000 figure that we set.

“We have embarked on a concerted social media campaign and are going to be sending out the message via print and online platforms and heading to venues throughout West Yorkshire to advertise our season-tickets deals for next season.

“With the most expensive season ticket at £149, we are head and shoulders above any club in the area, if not the entire Football League, on price.

“We are well on track to reach 15,000 but the big push starts now and we have decided the open the North-West Corner of the stadium.

“This has often been used only for cup games in recent seasons but we firmly believe that it’s one of the best vantage points to watch games at the Coral Windows Stadium.

“I was up there today and the view is fantastic, so this releases around 2,000 new and unreserved seats.”

Mason believes the move will help to cope with the increased demands for seats – particularly for groups of fans wanting to sit together.

Mason added: “As it stands, all season-ticket and flexi-card holders have until July 5 to renew their tickets from last season.

“Whilst that is fantastic in itself, it does create a problem in that there aren’t lots of empty seats for new season-ticket holders to sit together.

“For example, if you’re a family of four or a group of six, it’s difficult to find areas in the ground to do that.

“But the North-West Corner opens up that opportunity and is one of the best vantage points in the stadium.

“For any new season-ticket holder who might want to come as a group, and we know a number of supporters wish to do that, the North-West Corner offers that opportunity.

“Fans can help the club by ordering their season-tickets or renewing them sooner rather than later.”

City will also be extending their ticket office opening hours throughout weekends through June and up to the July deadline to accommodate demand from supporters.

The ticket office will be open on Saturday/Sunday on the following weekends: June 13/14, June 20/21, June 27/28 and July 4/5 .

Mason added: “The deadline is Sunday, July 5 but people can also buy online at any point.”
