PHIL Parkinson will spell out to City’s out-of-contract contingent if they are likely to have a future at Valley Parade next week.

Under Football League regulations, clubs must make a decision by the third Saturday in May on those whose current deals expire next month.

High earners Andrew Davies and Mark Yeates are the biggest calls for the Bantams boss to make.

Jason Kennedy, who has already been offered a deal with Carlisle, and Andy Halliday are also out of contract on June 30.

City also have to decide whether to take up further one-year options on Chris Routis, Matty Dolan and untried goalkeeper Matt Urwin. Gary Liddle’s second season has been automatically triggered after he made enough appearances.

Parkinson has kept his cards close to his chest so far but has spoken with several agents about potential summer targets. He is also keen to get Jon Stead on board permanently if they can agree a deal.

Carlisle boss Keith Curle made his move on Monday for midfielder Kennedy, who scored three goals in an 11-game loan spell to help the Cumbrians stay up.

Kennedy, who also revealed he has had interest elsewhere, admitted it would be “perfect” to stay with the League Two club.

He said: “At the moment there’s a conversation between my agent and the club and I’m just waiting to see what comes of that.

“I’ve got my family based in the north east, which isn’t too far away. I’ve enjoyed my football at Carlisle and my little boy and missus are loving me being here.”
