CITY will jet out for a mini-break in Portugal after the Fleetwood home game.

After six successive midweek matches, the Bantams finally have a blank week coming up after Saturday.

And Phil Parkinson will take advantage of that by flying the squad out for some warm weather training for a couple of days.

He said: “It’s a good chance to really refocus the lads for when we get back into the next busy schedule.

“We did it a couple of years ago and had a few days away during the season and we’re fortunate enough to have the revenue from the cup games to be able to do it again.

“We haven’t had any free weeks lately and we haven’t got many coming up. So this is the ideal opportunity to get the lads away as a group.”

The Bantams boss stressed that it will be work as well as play on the agenda.

“It will be good to let them have a little bit of relaxation but we’re also out there to work. We can put in some quality training on a good surface.

“The lads have done tremendously well so far and they’ve got a determination about them to finish the season on a high.”

Meanwhile, Parkinson has confirmed that on-loan Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke is expected to play for his parent club’s under-21s against Bristol City on Monday.

He said: “We’ve got an agreement with Forest and it will get him some match time with them.”
