Former Woodhouse Grove pupil Katie O'Brien, who was partnering fellow Briton Georgie Stoop, was beaten 6-4, 6-4 by Tzipi Obsiler (Israel) and Anastasia Yakimova (Belarus), who were also unseeded, in the quarter-finals of the women's doubles in the $50,000 tennis tournament in Patra, Greece.
In the singles, second seed O'Brien was beaten 6-2, 6-1 in the first round by left-handed Briton Naomi Cavaday and her British No 1 ranking is under threat from both Elena Baltacha and Anne Keothavong.
