The Craven, Aire & Wharfe League have, for the second time in three years, made use of the all-weather pitch at Sandylands Sports Centre in Skipton to ease their fixture backlog.

And Silsden Reds under-13s made good use of the third-generation artificial turf to beat Thackley 4-3 in Division C.

Silsden took an early lead, Zak Shaw’s lob from well outside the area putting them ahead, but Thackley equalised from a corner, having earlier hit a post.

An own goal put the Reds ahead for a second time, only for Thackley to score from another corner.

In the second half, Silsden hit a purple patch, with the lively James Darcy setting up Rueben Ritterband for the third and Ryan Thornton adding a fourth with a header from a pin-point cross, although a late Thackley goal made for a nervous finale.

However, there was no joy for leaders Silsden’s under-15s at Sandylands, as they were beaten 6-0 in a top-of-the-table A Division clash by BD3 United, who made it eight wins from eight.

United stormed into a 3-0 half- time lead with goals by Mohammad Israr, Shohaib JB and Ozair Arshad, with Israr completing his hat-trick in the second half, Arshad also scoring.

Prospect Juniors continued their chase for the Under-13 D Division championship with a 10-1 demolition of Sutton Rogues.

Goals came from Jordon Farrell (3), Nathan Speight (2), Ellis Heald Smith (2), Johnny Durkan (2) and Liam O’Sullivan, keeper Tom Lewis returning for the winners after a broken wrist.

Bradford Park Avenue Eagles under-tens came through a tricky test in the Keybury League, winning 5-4 at Bingley A in the Red Division to close the gap on leaders Keighley Shamrocks, who could only draw at Idle.

The Eagles started well on another artificial turf pitch but could have found themselves behind but for a couple of excellent saves from Jordan Moorhouse.

Bingley did have good spells, but Ethan Rhodes and man of the match Eisa Faulding proved difficult to beat at the back.

Bradford eventually broke the deadlock when Kian Hutchinson’s corner was flicked on by Jack Holroyd to Danny Frost, who fired home with a great half-volley.

But the Eagles never hit top gear on a small pitch and were made to pay for the lack of cutting edge when Bingley equalised.

The Eagles’ lead was soon restored, however, courtesy of Josh Barrett, who netted a fine finish from outside the box.

As Bradford pushed forward to try and finish the game, Bingley took advantage of gaps in the Bradford defence and scored twice to go in front.

After good pressure down the left, Bradford levelled with a Holroyd header.

The Eagles now had their tails up and Holroyd soon made it 4-3 after a lovely move.

Bradford looked home and dry when Barrett again finished well from outside the box but Bingley pulled a goal back late on to make for a tense last couple of minutes.

In the Green Division, Bradford Park Avenue Hawks won 11-2 at Bingley B to put the title within sight.

For the third week running, Bradford took on the team directly behind them in the table and again left little doubt that they will soon be crowned champions. Liam Brook started the rout with a goal early on, Leon Marsh-Clark doubling the lead soon after.

Bingley pulled one back, but the two-goal lead was restored when George Wood fired home from outside the box.

The Hawks were too strong for battling Bingley and increased their lead with two excellent long-range strikes from Levi Henderson-Lee.

Brook completed yet another hat-trick with Bradford’s sixth and seventh goals before Bingley got a second consolation effort.

Henderson-Lee finished with four goals, Brook and Marsh-Clark completing the goal tally.

Bradford Park Avenue Scorpions Under-Nines went down 5-2 at home to leaders Shipley Lions but outplayed them in the first half, Hamas Khan hitting a post and Jack Brimacombe the crossbar.

Shipley took the lead against the run of play but Scorpions levelled with a fine team move, man of the match Regan Davidson playing the ball down the wing to Brimacombe. He rolled it across to Bailey Healey, whose hard shot was blocked, Ali Arshad scoring.

With Avenue keeper Jack Fairlie in form alongside defenders Davidson and Oliver Holcroft, it wasn’t until midway through the half that Shipley scored twice.

Brimacombe poked home Avenue’s second goal and they could have made it 3-3 when Arshad’s shot hit the keeper’s legs.

With both teams cancelling each other out, Shipley hit two late goals.

Avenue Lizards had a double weekend in the Yellow Division, and started off with a 7-2 victory over Albion Sports, Jack Wright scoring a hat-trick in the final three minutes. Other goals came from Dominic Corps (2), Haseeb Alam and Alex Gigson.

The Lizards won 3-2 at Shipley in a battle of the top two, Wright giving the visitors the lead before an own goal levelled matters.

Another own goal gave Lizards the lead but their third goal was a beauty, finished by Corps. Shipley got a second but two timely challenges by Matthew Ham stopped them from equalising, leaving the Lizards ten points clear.

Wyke Wanderers A under-nines kept another clean sheet in the Huddersfield RCD League, winning 5-0 at Clifton Rangers A, with Charlie Smith (3) and Owen Khan being among the scorers.

The B team clash finished 3-3, Thomas Capstick and Khan’s late brace gaining Wyke an unlikely draw. Man of the match was keeper Jack Hewitt-Hill.

Wanderers A progressed 6-1 in the League Cup fourth round against weakened Hepworth United B.

Khan scored four top-drawer goals, with Hewitt-Hill netting a beauty and Capstick also scoring. Cameron Balmforth made some good saves.
