Five years ago, a small group of parents of Westwood Juniors were left with a set of goals and a handful of players.
Now, they have gained recognition from the FA, which has just awarded them Charter Standard status.
It is a journey that has taken in league championships and many tournament trophies and the club has grown to include under-sevens up to under-13s.
Club chairman Sandra Jacques said: “The award is a fantastic achievement for the club, and reward for all the hard work that our committee and managers have put in.”
