Manningham Youth Project (MYP) took a group of young people from deprived areas to last Sunday’s Barclays Premier League game at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The group were invited by Manchester City as part of their Kick Racism out of Football Programme to watch them play Fulham.
This follows last week’s celebration of cultural diversity which was specially attended by Stephen Dodds, the newly-appointed inspector for Manningham.
He said: “I was extremely pleased to be part of the discussions.
“It is extremely encouraging to see a group of young people from different backgrounds coming together to discuss a major issue such as racism.
“Events such as these will help to promote more cohesive communities and to break down barriers in the future.”
MYP took the group in partnership with Challenge College, who kindly provided the transport.
This visit will hopefully encourage more young people from south Asian backgrounds to visit football matches and be part of the game.
