THACKLEY Reds Under-16s enjoyed a red-letter day as they completed their Craven, Aire & Wharfe League season.

They defeated Bolton Woods 7-1 at Apperley Bridge to make it 14 wins out of 14 matches in Division C to seal their championship by 11 points from Bradford United.

Callum Churm, the division's top scorer, and man of the match Daniel Grimshaw, the second leading marksman, both bagged hat-tricks, with captain Jack I'Anson getting the other goal.

Bradford United Vipers, only formed last August, have been so dominant in Division 13C that they have won the title with four matches to spare.

They sealed it in their final home game with a 5-1 victory over improving Bingley Juniors Boca.

The half-time score was 0-0 but Leighton Milner and defender Josh Siewruk then netted to put the Vipers in charge and they recovered from an error by goalkeeper Josh Turner, who was man of the match, with further goals from leading scorer Harry Parsons (2) and Suffy Mahmood.

Bolton Woods Sabres took a firm grip on second place in Division B with a 2-1 victory at promotion rivals Nab Wood, who have the best strike force in the section in James Dalton and Ben Bradley.

However, Sabres took the lead in the ninth minute with a sweet chip by Kaylum Johnson, only for Oliver Steel to equalise two minutes later via a powerful header.

Sabres needed keeper Ben Shuttlewood to deny Dalton in a one-on-one before they got the winner with five minutes left when Ben O'Shea's header looped over goalkeeper Faiq Aziz.

Bradford United Raptors took over the leadership of Division 12B with a 7-1 home victory over Fairbank United.

James Hebb scored twice in each half – the pick being a lofted shot from outside the box – and Harrison Mercer added a brace, Spencer Mitchell rounding off an excellent performance with a half-volley from the centre circle.

The Raptors are two points ahead of Eccleshill United, who have a game in hand, with the rivals meeting at Wellington School on Sunday in what is the Raptors' last match of the season.
