Two late slips cost Myrtle Park Wanderers under-16s maximum points as they lost 2-1 to Menston in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League.

Chris Dauffy-Wheatley opened the scoring for Wanderers in the first half but his side were unable to add to their lead.

This was to prove costly as Menston kept plugging away and cashed in on their opponents’ lapses in concentration to snatch victory.

Despite the late reversal of fortune it had still been a great performance from Park’s back four of Luke Waddington, Shakeel Ashraf, Haydn Baldwin and man of the match Harry Taylor, with goalkeeper Jordan Fletcher also making some great saves.

Ollie Raistrick grabbed the man of the match honours with a second successive hat-trick as Bradford Park Avenue under-14s’ A team kept up their winning run 6-3 at home to Eldwick.

Mohammed Saqib, Daniel Isaacs and Hassan Qureshi added to Raistrick’s treble, with Luke Taylor and Ewan Pyrah also impressing.

The Lizards beat the Scorpions 5-1 in a Bradford Park Avenue under-12s domestic Keybury League dust-up to extend their unbeaten league run to 18 matches.

Lewis Melvin opened the scoring for the table-topping Lizards but Oliver Holcroft equalised and the Scorpions began to press for a second goal.

But a neat break led to Cameron Brewster restoring the Lizards’ advantage and second-half goals followed from Dominic Corps, Lewis Moorhouse and a second for Brewster.

Alfie Turner grabbed a classy hat-trick as Baildon Dynamos under-sevens defeated fellow unbeaten side Dudley Hill Rangers 8-3.

There were two goals apiece from Ben Cockcroft and Harvey Menzies, who also claimed two assists, with man of the match Max Paterson completing the tally as Baildon pulled clear late on.

The Dynamos under-tens were convincing winners as well, with Louis Anderson and Will Robinson scoring twice apiece in a 7-0 success against Eldwick.

Louis Turner, Courbon Carr and Charlie Menzies also hit the target, while Denon Sokee was named man of the match for his efforts all over the pitch.

Two other Dudley Hill teams also featured in high-scoring matches, with the under-eights having to hang on for a 5-4 win after building a 4-0 interval lead at Guiseley.

Rhys Hadley and Dominic Parish both scored twice for Rangers, with Callum Thornton adding the other goal.

Dudley Hill under-nines were quick out of the traps and Horsforth Chargers never recovered from falling 4-0 behind inside five minutes, eventually losing 9-0.

Spencer Dunk’s hat-trick was supported by further goals from Harry Norton (2), Dominic Howard (2) and Karl Kwedi, with the biggest cheer reserved for Niall Griffiths as he scored his first of the season.

Prolific goal-scorer Lewis Dunn added another six to his tally as Westwood Jets under-tens blitzed Horsforth Broncos 11-0.

Jake Larvin (2), Jacob Slator (2) and Jack Clarkson added the rest as Westwood made it 54 goals in six games.

Westwood Juniors are looking to recruit additional players for most age groups from under-sevens to under-16s. Anyone interested should call 07717-306335 or send an e-mail to julia7983@gmail.com for more details.

Wyke Wanderers’ under-nines A team were unable to protect an early lead as they lost 5-2 at Pudsey in the Huddersfield League. Stan Cahill fired Wyke in front but their only other goal came from Jacob Smith in the second half.

The Wanderers B team also lost, with Ranganai Muza and Logan Jean-Jacques netting their goals in a 4-2 reverse.

The B team are in League Cup action at White Rose All Stars this weekend but the A team are without a fixture as they have a bye.
