BRADFORD captain Tim Wade will hand out second appearances to youngster Ben Rhodes (Woodhall Hills) and Paul Arthurs (Calverley) in their Yorkshire Inter-District Union match against Halifax-Huddersfield at Northcliffe on Sunday.

Ben, who has had a busy summer, made his debut in the disappointing 22-14 defeat to East Riding at Woodhall Hills in June, while Paul first represented his city at senior level in the 25-11 victory over Teesside at Cleckheaton.

"I expected us to lose to York and Sheffield but I wasn't expecting us to lose to the East Riding, but it is all experience for the lads," said Wade, who still hopes his team can finish third.

Bradford team: Paul Arthurs (Calverley), Dane Bairstow, Terry Brushwood, Andy Town (Bingley St Ives), Andy Busfield, Jack Hall (South Bradford), Nigel Colbeck, Martin Gaffney (Cleckheaton), Chris Howe, Rob Malloy (Northcliffe), Ben Rhodes (Woodhall Hills).

Individually, Rhodes was 11th equal, with the best returns being Leeds' Tom North (Howley Hall) 70, 75 and York's James Cass (Fulford) 73. 72.

Last Sunday, Cleckheaton's Colbeck (0) and Gaffney (2) won the Bradford Union's Inter-Club Fourball Championship on a gross 63, finishing a shot ahead of Branshaw's Sam Reeve (5) and Ben Gill (4) and Bradford's George Grant (1) and Toby Wood (4).
