Bradford Park Avenue 0, Harrogate Town 6

Blue Square North promotion hopefuls Harrogate Town lifted the West Riding County Cup at the expense of Bradford Park Avenue when they hit their near neighbours for six at the County Ground, Woodlesford tonight.

Avenue were not out of it at half-time when they trailed by just the odd goal.

Town's Darren Dunning - brother of Guiseley skipper Richard - provided a through ball and Roy Hunter raced through to open the scoring.

Avenue had an effort cleared off the line before the interval and had two strikes ruled out late on.

However, it was a storming finish in the last quarter-hour by Town, and Danny Holland claimed a four-timer.

Chris Bettney gave Harrogate a cushion by doubling their lead just four minutes into the second half.

Holland soon got in on the act, scoring in the 55th minute before blasting Avenue away with a late flourish.

Three goals in the last ten minutes, the final nail in Avenue's coffin coming right at the death, will make good reading for Harrogate's followers and Bradford's detractors but it will not tell the whole story.

Mike Moseley headed in from a Chris Williams cross, only for a foul in the area to deny the goal, and Chris Gaghan nodded in minutes later but was adjudged to have been offside.
