NICKY Wroe has become the third player to commit to Bradford Park Avenue for next season after signing a one-year contract.

Wroe captained the side last term when club skipper Ryan Toulson was sidelined, with the midfielder joining centre back Shane Killock and striker Oli Johnson in putting pen to paper.

Avenue's first two pre-season friendlies have also been confirmed, with Mark Bower's side facing Albion Sports on Saturday, July 1 and Campion on Thursday, July 4, both away. Their first warm-up fixture at Horsfall Stadium is then set for the following Saturday.

Following the Football Association's publication of allocations for the 2017-18 season, it has been confirmed that Avenue will play York City and Southport and renew acquaintances with North Ferriby United.

All three clubs were relegated from the Vanarama National League and Avenue will also head to the north-east to take on Blyth Spartans and Spennymoor Town, who were promoted from the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

Leamington earned their promotion via the Southern League but their inclusion in Vanarama National League North has led to a sideways move for Gloucester City. Avenue will not face the Tigers next term as they will be in National League South.
