Bradford Park Avenue make the short trip to the Dual Seal Stadium to take on Brighouse Town in a friendly derby fixture tonight.
Avenue suffered a 1-0 defeat to League Two side Hartlepool United at the weekend in their third pre-season game. They were also beaten by League One outfit Doncaster Rovers but they enjoyed a 3-0 victory at Tadcaster Albion last midweek.
Danny Frost hit one of the goals in that win and, after impressing in a second-half appearance against Colin Cooper’s Pools, he was snapped up by Avenue. He will be involved tonight as a Bradford player looking forward to the Conference North season getting underway.
Brighouse are also keenly awaiting the new campaign following their promotion to the Evo-Stik Division One North. Town won the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division title last term with a record number of points.
Another of Avenue’s summer signings, Sam Hewitt, will be returning to his roots as he was a member of Town’s championship winning squad.
Thackley are also in action tonight and they too have a new signing after confirming the arrival of former Bantams full back Luke O’Brien. O’Brien is expected to make his debut for the Dennyboys at home against Knaresborough Town.
