Yorkshire Division Two: Ripon 14 Old Grovians 7

A LOSING bonus point was the least that Old Grovians deserved, although they were left to rue missed penalties and a lack of discipline.

Within three minutes, went ahead with a try from a line-out before visiting winger Dion Hendricks was stopped three yards out, his pass failing to go to hand.

Ripon then got over Grovians' line but were held up, and they paid for that when, from a solid scrum on halfway, the ball was fed wide for centre Anthony Griffin to score and Ben Brown convert.

Hendricks then went close again before Ripon popped over a penalty for an 8-7 interval advantage.

In a second half where both sides had chances and the referee failed to apply advantage correctly, the only points came from two Ripon penalties.

* Heath v Bradford Salem (Yorkshire One), Keighley v Castleford (Yorkshire Two) and Wibsey v Rossington Hornets (Yorkshire Five Cup) were all postponed.
