Bradford & Bingley secretary Nick Patterson is confident the club can produce the right response when they host Burnage on Saturday in a landmark game for skipper Guy Ford.

Ford will be making his 100th appearance for the club as the Bees seek to bounce back from last weekend’s dismal 48-15 defeat at Billingham.

The north-east horror show followed a home defeat against Sandal the week previously and has led to some soul-searching this week.

Looking ahead to the SSE National League Three North encounter, Patterson said: “We’re keen to get back to winning ways this weekend but there’s certainly no panic.

“We came up against a Billingham team last weekend who had a very good set of backs.

“On Tuesday night at training, though, the lads knocked seven bells out of each other and they’re ready to go again on Saturday.

“They have spoken among themselves and know the past couple of games haven’t been good enough.

“It’s Fordy’s 100th game for the club and we want to mark the occasion with the right kind of performance.”

Patterson says the club have no major injury worries and are not expected to make major changes.

Cleckheaton gave a dismal display in losing 34-5 at home to Sheffield and make wholesale changes for the SSE North One East clash at Old Crossleyans, while Bradford Salem give Canadian Sean McLelland a debut at flanker in another derby at home to West Leeds in SSE Yorkshire Two.
