Wagon Lane-based Bumble Bees – England's only team of adults with learning disabilities who play contact rugby – have an international fixture in February.
They will travel to their Welsh counterparts, and are holding a fund-raiser on October 8, including live music and an auction.
Providing the music will be The Blues Jukes, the Broken Hearts Club Band and John Driver, and there will also be an auction of sporting memorabilia, including boxing gloves signed by former world heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon, four extra large Jamie Langley testimonial shirts and a 1981 cricket bat signed by an Old England XI, including Fred Trueman and Denis Compton.
Meanwhile, for the ladies, prizes include a one-hour body massage by Varda Holistic Beauty of Keighley, a colour, cut and blow dry by Head Shead at Park Road, Bingley, and System Professional Hair Products by Elizabeth Ventor. Tickets (£10, including supper) are available from John Flaherty (07813-910320), Dave Morris (07827-882891) or Mark Goodwin (07914-345004).
