Wharfedale No 8 Rob Baldwin captained England Counties to a five-try 34-16 victory over the Ulster Bank International Team at Preston Grasshoppers.
But he wasn’t the only Dalesmen to aid the cause as the nation’s top semi-professionals made a rare visit North as scrum half Philip Woodhead came off the bench.
With England fighting hard to gain supremacy up front, the backs were able to show their pace and skill.
“It was a fantastic game and I’m really pleased that we had a 22-man performance with everyone making a contribution,” said Counties manager Mike Old.
