A total of £2,800 was raised for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and Breakthrough Breast Cancer by a charity rugby match.

The game at Otley Rugby Union Football Club, which attracted 400 spectators, was held in memory of East Morton pilot Oliver Lee, who died earlier this year.

Friends who had played with Lee at Bradford Grammar School and Otley Juniors in the 1990s pulled on their boots one more time to form the two teams.

The game was keenly contested, Bradford scoring three tries through Ben Travis, Badar Ayaz and Dan Solomi.

Otley matched this with two tries by Will Foster and one from Chris Irving but two conversions by Bradford fly half Mike Creswick proved the difference in a 19-15 win.

Joint-match organiser Andrew Foster said: “Oliver was a great lad, loved by his family and friends and well-liked by everyone he met.

“Everyone wanted to do something to remember him and the turnout just goes to show the regard in which he was held.”
