Yorkshire Division One basement boys Bradford Salem, who beat Selby 7-5 last weekend, have targeted seven wins from their last 12 games in their survival bid.

Salem, who suffered a five-point deduction earlier in the season for fielding the ineligible Simon Davies, have only got five league points so far and are 17 points from safety.

But spirits are up following last weekend as they travel to fourth-placed Heath on Saturday.

Salem’s first-team manager Neil Klenk said of the Selby match: “It certainly gave us a lift and our defensively we were exemplary but we have found it difficult to break down defences.

“We have targeted seven wins from the rest of the season but we will still need other matches to go in our favour.”

Salem have given a vote of confidence to their veteran second-row pairing of Dean McNicholl and Damien Cope but are without fly half Matt Booth (suspended for two weeks following his dismissal at Ilkley) and flanker Chris Fisher (unavailable).
