Cleckheaton, who are without suspended duo Carl Mason and Richard Piper, must pick themselves up to face Darlington Mowden Park at home in National League Three North on Saturday after losing another contest they should have won at home to West Park St Helens.

"It was our most disappointing performance of the season," said Cleckheaton spokesman Alan Bentley.

Mason has been suspended by the RFU for two weeks, while the club have imposed their own three-week suspension on Richard Piper prior to his RFU hearing.

Ross Hayden, normally a full back or wing, has been named at fly half, where he used to play as a schoolboy, but he could step aside if Owen Edwards - named on the wing - is fit.

If Cleckheaton realise that they need more experience, then it could come by re-signing Jeff Jones, who the club have admitted talking to, or playing former British Lion John Bentley, who made a successful one-off appearance earlier this season.

Playing 35-year-old Craig Rika - be it off the bench or from the start - has certainly worked in the short term for Cleck, and he starts on Saturday at home to Darlington Mowden Park.
