Prop Richard Leach has confirmed his retirement for Keighley after a neck injury sustained in training.
They host Malton & Norton on Saturday in Yorkshire Division One and recall Adam Balderstone at centre in place of the unavailable Rob Wilkinson.
A more worrying scenario, however, concerns the front row. Not only has Leach retired, but there is an injury doubt over Ollie Sugden, who damaged ribs last Saturday, and Keighley could also be without fellow prop Paul Sinfield because of work commitments.
In addition, flanker or hooekr Dave Pullen is not available as he runs a rugby team at Bradford Grammar School.
Debutants on the bench are centre Jimmy Anson and flanker or second row Ashley Waligura.
Keighley (home to Malton & Norton): M Beckett; M Brett, A Balderstone, S Dyson, S Walker; A Brown, A Marklew; E Griffin, N Thornton, P Sinfield, R Clarke, D Lister, A Bennett , S Inman, L Sugden. Replacements: O Sugden, J Anson, A Waligura.
