Yorkshire Division Three: Baildon 17 Northallerton 19
BAILDON picked up their fifth losing bonus point of the season, going behind when Northallerton No 8 Jed Bainbridge benefited from a heel against the head from a scrum near the home line to score a try.
The visitors then showed the potency of their rolling maul to bag a second try, this time from 20 metres out, Bainbridge converting for 12-0.
JJ O'Connell missed a penalty for Baildon but made no mistake with his second attempt, although they spurned the chance of a try when the last pass went to ground.
However, Northallerton's rolling maul was back in situ when the second half started and, although they had a decent shout for a penalty try, the scored anyway from an attacking five-metre scrum, and converted it for 19-3.
However, with Marcus Dracup and forwards Tom Peel, Alistair Beaumont and James Fox starting to be more influential, Northallerton received a general team warning, former Darlington prop Joe Osleton soon being sin-binned.
Harrison Strauss then capitalised by scoring in the corner for O'Connell to convert magnificently, and the latter then ran onto a flat Matt Withers pass with three minutes left to score a try and convert.
But Northallerton held on to possession to secure a narrow victory.
