YORKSHIRE Carnegie stalwart Phil Nilsen is to have a testimonial match.

A luncheon will be held before their final match of the regular season against Nottingham on Sunday, April 17.

Nilsen, who also coaches Yorkshire Division One side Bradford Salem, is only the second player in the Leeds club's history to be granted a testimonial.

The 30-year-old is the longest serving player at the club and is now fourth in the all-time appearance list behind Mike Shelley, Rob Rawlinson and Tom Palmer.

A product of the club's academy, Nilsen made his debut in 2006 and has emerged to become a key squad member.

The luncheon will be two courses but tickets for it will also entitle the buyer to listen to pre-match analysis, have corporate seating for the game, car parking and access to the post-match players' bar.

Nilsen said: "My main goal of each event is to celebrate my time here at Yorkshire Carnegie with all of you that have supported me and the team during the years.

"It has been an absolute privilege to have met you all over the years and to represent you on the field, and I hope you can join me at this lunch in April."

Luncheon tickets can be booked on 01132 033222 and prices are £50 plus VAT per person, £500 plus VAT for a table of ten or £30 plus VAT per person for season-ticket holders.
