SSE Yorkshire Division Three
Burley 8
Old Grovians 55
OLD Grovians notched their fifth win in six away matches in emphatic fashion, Aaron Magee putting them ahead in the sixth minute from an Anthony Griffin break.
With Harry Garforth and Joel Bradley causing mayhem among the home ranks, Magee was soon over for his second and third tries as the visitors marched into a 17-0 lead up the slope.
An excellent long-range penalty put the hosts on the scoreboard and, although they managed a try just before half-time, the visitors emphasised their dominance with another try by Griffin, Joe Harrison side-stepping four players in midfield to create the chance as they went 22-8 in front.
Old Grovians' strength and fitness showed in the second half, quick and accurate passing putting in Griffin for his second try and Harrison's interception and run paving the way for a penalty, which Chris Baines took quickly to score.
Adam Weaving, who converted to add to a first-half conversion, then scored a try himself by glancing off an upright, Ben Brown's conversion making it 41-8.
And Grovians never took their foot off the gas, adding tries by Bradley and Jack Hartley, Weaving converting both.
