AFTER what can only be described as a chalk-and-cheese performance at Coventry last Saturday, Wharfedale coach Jon Feeley expects his players to be on the ball from the off at home to Blackheath tomorrow.

The Greens had an awful opening to their SSE National League One match in the midlands and were 14-0 down after seven minutes on the way to conceding six tries in the first half alone, by which time they trailed 43-5.

However, buoyed by the efforts of the five replacements that Feeley introduced at half-time, his side ran in 21 unanswered points to at least gain a bonus point and some pride on the way to a 53-26 defeat.

Feeley said: "The second half was excellent and showed what we are capable of. I expect the 20 players in the squad to show that from minute one tomorrow."

The Dalesmen give a debut to Leeds Met University student Luke Stevenson at fly half, while skipper and scrum half James Doherty makes his 100th league appearance for the club.
