Wheatley Hills 13 Cleckheaton 25
Cleckheaton extended their lead at the top of SSE North One East with a bonus-point victory in this re-arranged league fixture.
The home side opened the scoring with a penalty from full back Johnny Woodcock but the powerful Cleckheaton side soon clicked into gear with a try from skipper Richard Piper, converted by Ross Hayden.
A penalty from the league's leading points scorer Hayden, shortly followed by a try from the same player, which he failed to convert, put the visitors in command.
However, it was Woodcock who reduced the arrears four minutes from the break with his second successful penalty for Wheatley.
The second half was hard-fought but two well-worked unconverted tries from Andy Piper and a second for Hayden appeared decisive for the visitors.
But Wheatley continued to exert pressure and were rewarded with the final score as powerful centre Jordan Ajimati broke through for a try, which was converted by Woodcock.
