Cleckheaton, who have won their last six SSE North One East matches, are not ruling out a late run to the play-offs.
"There are six matches to go and some people within the club are talking about our match on April 20 at home to Wheatley Hills being a play-off decider," said Cleckheaton's spokesman Alan Bentley.
"Our pack is getting a reputation as being well-drilled and, while Richard Piper might get the plaudits for his scoring, Richard Piercy was a key figure last Saturday when we won at Malton & Norton.
"He was our man of the match, and we have Ollie Akroyd back this weekend for the home game against Middlesbrough.
"Both of us have good reasons for wanting to win - us to keep our run going and Middlesbrough to stay in this division.
"They are a proud club who have never been below this level."
