After a defensive masterclass against leaders Beverley last weekend, Cleckheaton want to get straight back to SSE North One East action by winning at Morley on Saturday.

"We had a luncheon before the match and the atmosphere in the clubhouse was buzzing after the game last Saturday, and I didn't leave until a quarter to seven," said Cleckheaton spokesman Alan Bentley.

"Ollie Akroyd has certainly made a difference with his line-out ability but we really knocked them back in defence.

"We don't want to lose that momentum by not playing against Morley. We have lost enough games to the weather already."

Craig Blackburn comes into the centre for the trip to Scatcherd Lane as Lee Queeley is unavailable.

Bentley added: "Craig is a Cleck lad through and through and won't let us down. He might not have the abiity to make breaks like Lee but he is his equal in every other respect."

Moorend is also bouyant after being granted RFU Club Accreditation status, having been a 'Seal of Approval' club since 2008.

This means that the whole club, from minis (under-sevens) to open age has been audited to ensure the club offers the highest-quality rugby to the local community.

Currently the club run four open-age sides, an under-19 colts side and has a junior–mini section that has ten age-group teams from under-17s down to under-sevens.

The RFU Club Accreditation award also includes the Clubmark Accreditation issued by Sport England.

Cleckheaton RUFC was founded in 1925 and has been at the Moorend site since that time as part of Cleckheaton Sports Club, sharing facilities with cricket and bowls.

The rugby and cricket sections are now looking to develop their changing facilities to meet the expectations of a modern club and to bring them into line with RFU/ECB recommendations.

The development will feature changing rooms with en-suite showers and toilets, an officials' room, a medical room and a meeting room/club shop.

This major task will cost over £150,000 and, while the club is already fund-raising for this project, these official accreditations pave the way for us to apply for contributory funding from our sports’ constituent bodies and also from Sport England.
