Thornensians 10 Baildon 18
Baildon’s miserly defence and an impressive kicking display by full back Jarrod Huss proved the difference between two sides vying for promotion from Yorkshire Three.
Huss kicked his side into a 15-point lead after 67 minutes.
A further penalty success from Huss, two minutes after Thornensians’ opening score, rounded off a fine display by the Kiwi, who ended up with six successes from eight attempts.
The withdrawal of open-side flanker Johnny Picken on 61 minutes with a suspected broken elbow and a controversial penalty try to Thornensians in the sixth minute of second-half injury time were the only blemishes on a powerful display by the Jenny Laners, who stay in third place.
