Bradford Dudley Hill and Stanningley are both due to benefit from the Rugby Football League’s autumn pitch remediation programme.

They are among 60 community rugby league clubs whose pitches will be improved to the tune of £5,000 each.

However, because the work involved is more extensive than anticipated, the financial support from Sport England and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport will not cover the total costs, and clubs have been asked to contribute £1,500 by next March to ensure the full programme of work is carried out.

The work, which will be undertaken by professional contractors, will involve verti-draining, weed and feed, over-seeding and top dressing on the pitches.

The majority of clubs participating in the initial pitch programme are Tier Three National Conference League clubs but the plan is to extend this to clubs in the regional leagues in the future.
