England half back Kirsty Moroney opened the scoring to set Bradford Thunderbirds on the way to a 48-0 demolition of last season’s league runners-up Hillside Hawks.
Bradford’s forwards laid the platform, punching holes in the Hillside defence, and with great support play it was only a matter of time before they broke through.
Moroney’s try was followed by others before the interval from Emma Proctor, Nicky Parry and Nat Parsons, who converted twice.
The second half followed the same pattern and tries flowed from Jo Littlefair (2), Tamara Spurr (2) and another by Parry, before Danielle Bose rounded things off with a 95-metre sprint to the line. Parsons added two more conversions.
