Former Bulls star Lee Gilmour is excited at the prospect of adding to his impressive collection of medals after joining ambitious Huddersfield for the 2010 season.

The Great Britain second-rower switched to the Giants at the end of the season on a two-year deal from St Helens after the Merseysiders only offered him a 12-month contract.

And Gilmour believes the club can take an extra step forward after a superb 2009 campaign and bring trophies to the Galpharm Stadium.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to starting at the club and getting stuck in to pre-season training with the boys,” he said.

“I think the club have been going forward over the last couple of years and have made a couple of finals. Hopefully the two years I’m at the club we can go that one step further and get some silverware.”

Gilmour is looking forward to the chance to work with coach of the year Nathan Brown.

“The club have been building for a few years now and on the football side of things they have really improved, especially since Nathan arrived,” he said.

“I’ve heard some really good things about him and I’m looking forward to working with both Nathan and Baloo (Paul Anderson), who I know well from my days at Bradford Bulls and St Helens.

“The club have signed some good players for next season and it’s also a big squad.

“So hopefully we will be able to survive the odd injury and look to go that one step further and pick up a trophy, although there’s a lot of hard work to be done before that.”
