Bulls legend Mick Withers could end up without a Super League club following mounting problems over his move to Wigan.

The Aussie full back agreed terms with the Warriors more than four months ago but has strangely still not been unveiled as their player.

It is understood Wigan are worried about breaking the salary cap again - they were docked two points in August for over-spending last year - and can't get their 2007 sums to add up either.

The captures of Harlequins scrum-half Thomas Leuluai and former Leeds hooker Shane Millard have also not been announced while, ominously, Brian Noble's side have yet to reveal their squad numbers for next season.

It is believed unless they can ditch some of their current squad, one of the incoming trio may be cut. As they already have England ace Chris Ashton at full back, Withers would be the likeliest casualty.

The Warriors have been trying unsuccessfully to offload high-earning imports David Vaeliki and Pat Richards, while axing Academy players.

The Warriors came under massive scrutiny this year when they forked out a world-record £450,000 on Bulls' Stuart Fielden to help save then from relegation.

That sparked rumours about alleged over-spending again and, with big-name Aussie recruits Trent Barrett and Phil Bailey already on their way, it is thought they may have done likewise for 2007.

Wigan may now be extremely cautious before registering Withers and co in case their arrivals do take the club over the limit again.

The Bulls made Withers an offer for next season but that was on vastly reduced terms and he decided to reunite with former Bradford boss Noble at JJB Stadium.

Technically, Bulls' contract remained on the table until November 30 and he could have returned at any time to take it up.

But they have signed Castleford's Michael Platt as a replacement and so Withers, currently at home in Australia, is now anxiously awaiting news.

With most clubs having already completed their recruitment, the 30-year-old could find himself in limbo.
