DIVISION Four table-toppers Queensbury's ability to post long-range tries ensured they coasted to a 38-12 win at Swillington in the Pennine League.

Eagle-eyed half back Billy Naylor grabbed two tries, both converted by Alix Stephenson, to put the visitors into the sheds 12-6 up.

Three-quarter Robson Moore sprinted 80 metres to the chalk on the restart and handed over to the supporting Stephenson for a belter. Moore then raced under the sticks after pouncing on a loose pass.

A depleted 14-man Victoria Rangers side gave leaders Illingworth a fright before falling to a 34-26 defeat.

The Vics were narrowly behind 16-14 at the break following touchdowns from stand-off Sam Thornton, full back Jordon Walker and wingman Cameron Foster, one of which was converted by scrum half Josh Hattle.

The hosts thought they had the game in the bag after a flurry of tries on the restart but when Walker grabbed his second, followed by a splendid effort from loose forward Oscar Woodhead, Rangers were back in the hunt at 28-20.

The Halifax side then intercepted a threatening Vics attack to race the length of the field to make sure of the spoils.

Birkenshaw leapfrogged visitors Doncaster Toll Bar up to fourth in the Division Three table after a sparkling 24-12 home success at East Bierley.

Forward Ben Cousen got the scoreboard rolling, quickly followed by further tries from second-row Andy Berry and fellow packman Dom Liversedge for a 16-12 interval tally.

Wingman Robbie Cass made the touchdown in the second half and marksman Gary Procter landed a late penalty to ease any fears of a Doncaster comeback.

Clayton looked en route for a bucketful when they took a 30-0 lead over Division Two title favourites Hanging Heaton.

James Waterman, Ryan Wilkinson, Simon Giles, Mick Cunliffe and Dane Bairstow all reached the chalk in the first half.
